Meghna Abraham

Meghna Abraham is an international human rights lawyer and expert on economic, social and cultural rights. Over the past 20 years she has worked with communities in all regions of the world to challenge the negative impacts of economic policies on their lives. She is one of the co-founders of the Future Economy Incubator and is currently focusing on campaigns for reparations for harms arising from the climate and biodiversity crises.

Meghna was formerly the Executive Director of the Center for Economic and Social Rights and held senior roles at Amnesty International, including Director of Global Issues. She sits on the Boards of the Balanced Economy Project and Natural Resource Charter, and is a member of the Advisory Council for the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, and a Fellow of the Nottingham Human Rights Law Centre. She is an Indian national who holds a BA LLB (Hons) degree from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and BCL and MPhil in Law degrees from the University of Oxford.
